NWDS Management Academy Garners Two Recognitions in the“China Learning & Development Value Awards 2014”

(7 August 2014 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in Mainland China, is pleased to announce that NWDS Management Academy’s “Core Talents Nurturing Plan”, which was accredited as “Top 20 China Corporate Training Program” with its creativity and practicality earlier, won the “Valuable Case Award” and the “Best Practice Award” from over 100 entries in the “China Learning & Development Value Awards 2014” organized by the HR Excellence Centre (HREC). It recognizes the Company’s excellence in its staff development program and dedication to establish a staff talent-exerting platform through providing appropriate employee training programs to address their different needs.

NWDS believes that talents are the Company’s cornerstone of its further development. With the conviction of “nurture talents with respect, care and trust”, the Company customizes training programs to employees at all levels. “Core Talents Nurturing Plan”, launched in 2011, is a nurturing program targeting at the Company’s middle and senior management and its curriculum covers personality test, training course, rotational internship, role-play, coaching and overseas visit, aiming to elevate employees’ skill level and professionalism, so as to cater to the Company’s need for retail talents.

“China Learning & Development Value Awards” is founded by HR Excellence Centre, a large-scale and influential human resource organization in Mainland China, in 2014. With the objective of “establishing best practices and fostering the development of human resources industry with a group of outstanding enterprises”, the award is considered as one of the most authoritative, professional and creditable awards in the industry. The judging panel was formed by nine senior human resources experts. After three-round screenings including site visits and interviews in four months, only 10% and 3% of well-deserved enterprises were awarded the “Valuable Case Award” and the “Best Practice Award” respectively. Mr. Ringo Ma, Director, Human Resources and Administration of NWDS, was invited to attend the award presentation ceremony in Shanghai, where he delivered a keynote speech to share the Company’s talent strategies and innovations in human resources management with over 500 industry professionals. All winning cases will be included in the “China Learning & Development Value Awards 2014 Case Collection” to be published next year.
