(13 August 2014 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in Mainland China, is pleased to announce that after garnering the International Mercury Awards earlier, the Company’s 2013 annual report has gained another victory in the LACP Vision Awards Annual Report Competition and the ARC Awards out of over 1,000 enterprises. The Company has won three awards in the LACP Vision Awards, which are the Gold Award in the category of “Consumer Services”, the honor of “Top 80 Asia-Pacific Annual Reports” and “Top 20 Chinese Reports”; and the Silver Award in the category of “Traditional Annual Report” in the ARC Awards, further affirming the Company's achievement in the field of corporate communications.

The theme of NWDS’ FY2013 Annual Report is about the Company’s milestone--its 20th anniversary and illustrations of “beautiful garden” are used as the backdrop throughout the book. The plant at the center of the cover is in a prosperous period, which implies that the Company has grown magnificently in the past 20 years under the long-term support from friends from all walks of life and customers.

The LACP Vision Awards Annual Report Competition and the ARC Awards are the biggest, the most talked-about and the most prestigious annual report competitions in the industry worldwide. This year’s competition is very keen and has received more than 1,000 entries from all over the world. Judges select outstanding annual reports based on various criteria, including the first impression, report cover/ interior design, letter to shareholders, report narratives, report financials, creativity, message clarity, information accessibility and the communication of the organization spirit. The Company’s 2013 annual report scored 98 out of 100 in the LACP Vision Awards, which made the Company the Gold Award winner in the category of “Consumer Services”.
