(5 June 2014 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, will launch a nationwide environmental protection activity, “Go Green with NWDS” for the third time from 5 to 15 June to carry on the spirit of earth protection. Echoing the United Nations’ World Environment Day on June 5, the activity will be kicked off by the “Green Causal Wear Day” on that day. This year, the Company will further leverage “NWDS CSR” Weibo to promote green shopping and earth resource reservation in order to practice environmental protection in our daily lives.

“Go Green with NWDS” is the Company’s annual signature green event. Led by mascot “GAGA Green Fighter”, the activity will continue to call for all staff members in stores and offices to dress in green or wear green accessories to work on 5 June to build a green and harmonic workplace. During the activity period, customers wearing green attires will be entitled to a green gift and numerous shopping privileges. Upon spending at a specific amount, customers can also receive a pot of green plant and a recycle bag. Furthermore, extra benefits and shopping vouchers will be offered to NWDS Gold, Platinum and Diamond VIP card members. Other than shopping privileges, many in-store green activities will be organized, including “Green Craft DIY Workshop”, “Green Products Expo”, “Eco Fashion Show”, “Green and Low-Carbon Cooking Contest” and “Green Concert”, leading customers to a green lifestyle to embrace the earth.

Ridding on the previous success of “Green Mid-Autumn Festival Ideas Collection” and “A Warm Christmas” wei-events, NWDS will bundle online-to-offline (O2O) promotions for the third time and launch “Something Green Everyday” wei-event on “NWDS CSR” Weibo from 5 to 10 June to encourage about 430,000 Weibo fans and internet users at large to make their green promises, further implanting green concept in their head and practicing green in their daily lives. By simply forwarding the wei-event feed and @three friends, internet users have a chance to win a NWDS “Something New Everyday” limited edition wooden music box.
