NWDS Develops Cross-over Partnership with Warner Bros. Tom & Jerry Presented at 42 Stores during Christmas and New Year

(17 December 2013 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, is pleased to announce its first cooperation with Warner Bros., a leader in the global entertainment industry, introducing its renowned cartoon characters, Tom & Jerry, to NWDS' 42 stores during Christmas and New Year. A series of themed activities are launched to bring festive joy to customers. 

The activities will take place from 1 December 2013 to the end of February 2014. With in-store decorations featuring Tom & Jerry, large-scale decorations will also be placed outside selected stores, including Beijing New World Department Store, Beijing New World Liying Department Store and Hong Kong New World Department Store – Shanghai Shaanxi Road Branch Store. Furthermore, a 3D Tom & Jerry themed entertainment zone is set up and various kinds of activities, such as DIY interactive activities, cartoon character visits, etc, are organized outside of the stores. Tom & Jerry-featured gifts are tailor-made as giveaways for and to be redeemed by customers with purchase. 

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. is one of the most influential movie corporations in the world, producing a vast number of significant cartoon movies. Many of its cartoon characters have become superstars. Tom & Jerry are two senior ones which have been popular in China for six decades since 1950s. Recognizing the large impact of Warner Bros’ cartoon characters in China consumer markets, NWDS partners with Warner Bros to realize a joint cooperation between two leaders in their respective industries to create win-win.
