(21 September 2012 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, continues to fulfill its green mission by organizing the “Green Mid-Autumn Festival –Moon Cake Box Recycling Campaign”, a nationwide environmental activity that promotes recycling from 21 September to 7 October, once again following its success in 2011.

The 2012 “Green Mid-Autumn Festival –Moon Cake Box Recycling Campaign” not only combines the elements of environmental conservation and charity, but also offers shopping privileges for its loyal customers. During the campaign, customers who donate one metal moon cake box or two paper moon cake boxes will receive one donation coupon. Making purchases in NWDS stores with the coupon can receive a small gift or shopping discounts. Moreover, NWDS VIP and co-branded credit card members will be eligible for additional rewards. NWDS will send those moon cake boxes from customers to recyclers for further processing and the proceeds collected will be donated to charitable organizations in the respective districts of the stores afterwards.

To create a rich green Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere, the campaign incorporates a series of focal activities. In the “Moon Cake Box Lucky Draw”, customers who make purchases in NWDS stores with 2 donation coupons can join the lucky draw on top of the shopping privileges mentioned above. During the campaign, themed display board will be demonstrated in all stores to introduce issues relating to the recycling of scrap metal in the PRC, so as to raise public awareness about recycling. In addition, environmental friendly lanterns with riddles will be hanged in some of the stores, customers can participate in the lantern riddle guessing game to win prizes by presenting their receipts.
