(9 July 2012 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, once again became the key sponsor for "MSF Day" this year. The Company together with its parent company, New World Development Company Limited ("New World Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 17) participated in "MSF Day 2012" organized by Médecins Sans Frontières ("MSF") this year and have raised a total donation amount of HK$446,780, becoming the corporation raising the highest amount of the year for six consecutive years. 

NWDS together with New World Group appealed for donation of one day's salary from their local and regional staff which symbolizes volunteering for MSF's worldwide medical aid work for one day. With the enthusiastic support of the employees, HK$446,780 has been raised this year, in which NWDS has contributed HK$400,000 to the total, reflecting the kindness of dedicated employees who made the donation without hesitation.

Ms. Rebecca Woo, Director, Corporate Affairs of NWDS said, “Since 2007, NWDS has been supporting the worldwide medical aid work of MSF and we have been the key sponsor for "MSF Day" for the sixth consecutive year in 2012. In order to let our employees to know more about MSF, the Company and MSF have jointly organized a staff sharing sessions in Beijing this year. By sharing different real stories of rescue, all the employees were very impressed and have had better understanding on the job of MSF. Via MSF, our employees’ donations will constitute a very a real contribution in the provision of aid to populations in need.”
