NWDS believes that talent development plays a vital role in the success of corporate sustainable development. Therefore, apart from offering a competitive remuneration and welfare package, the Company carries through the conviction of “Nurture Talents with Respect, Care and Trust” and provides a comprehensive training system and talent development program to help our employees advance their career. To foster relationship with our fellow staff, NWDS also holds staff-caring activities frequently to enhance corporate coherence.
On 13 June 2011, the Company hosted an event in Guilin in recognition of outstanding trainers, at which trainers from all stores gathered together and received their rewards. A total of 68 awards were granted at the ceremony as recognition of the efforts of all the trainers to maintain the operation and service quality of stores nationwide, including “Outstanding Authorized Trainer Awards”, “Outstanding Unauthorized Trainer Awards”, “Annual Diligence Awards” and “Best Region Training Management Awards”. In addition, stores in different cities such as Shenyang, Shanghai, Chengdu and Tianjin conducted various staff contests, including selection of outstanding employee and cashier contest etc., recognizing and rewarding the contribution of staff in different sectors.
NWDS placed “General Manager Mail Boxes” at the staff canteens of all stores and offices and set up an email inbox to create an efficient, democratic and innovative working atmosphere. Dedicated personnel are assigned to periodically collect, record, follow up and reply to correspondence in the mail boxes and the email inbox to stay in touch with the voice of the staff. At the same time, the Company launched the “NWDS New Culture: Creative Operation Concepts Reward Program”, which lasted from May 2011 to September 2012. During this Program, the Company conducted creative concept consolidation activities on different subjects in different periods and give corresponding rewards to pre-eminent proposals. The activities gave all staff opportunities to voice out their thinking, contribute their wisdom and grow with the Group.
The Company has always put staff training as a key focus and officially launched “Project Xinpeng-NWDS Management Intern Cultivation 2011” in March 2011. One hundred management trainees from Shenyang, Harbin, Beijing, Wuhan, Shanghai and Chengdu joined the big family of New World Department Store.
On 19 March 2010, management officers from middle to senior positions of NWDS participated in a four-day field trip to department stores in Tokyo. Aiming at studying Japan department stores in a systematic and comprehensive aspect, the field trip reinforced the Company’s customer-oriented operation mode and specialized marketing research. With tight schedule, the management visited 0101 and 109 department stores which symbolize youth, trend and change; as well as Isetan and Mitsukoshi representing elegance, classics and unique services, fostering exchange of insights into operational opportunities and challenges of department stores in the two countries.
On 9 March 2010, 33 NWDS cashiers being excellent at their jobs were rewarded a four-day trip to Seoul. Ambassadors experienced the genuine VIP services and meticulous customer services and learned the concepts of quality services during the visit. The event successfully improved the quality of customer services provided by our staff.
