Delegation of NWDS Senior Executive on a Visit to Japan
Leading by Mr Adrian Cheng, Executive Director of NWDS, twenty senior executives of NWDS went to Japan for a visit from 23 October to 27 October 2009.
Members of the delegation visited several department stores in Japan, including MARUI, SHIBUYA109, PARCO and Seibu. In addition, they also visited Isetan and Mitsukoshi, which are the famous department stores in Japan, exchanging views of the opportunities and challenges ahead in both China & Japan department store industries. Members of the delegation felt the tour beneficial and they focused on four main areas to analyze: "Merchandise Mix", "Visual Merchandising", "Sales & Marketing" and "Positioning Strategy & Theme" in order to devise feasible improvement plan to increase the competitiveness of NWDS in the industry, equipping NWDS for further accelerated development.

NWDS's regular training courses include: new employee orientation, professional operational skills training (over 20 courses covering different aspects of professional skills), training in supervisory skills, effective management skills, time management skills, counseling skills and negotiation skills, team-building exercise, training for customer services trainers and supervisors and training on 7 habits for highly-effective people etc. These training courses aim at equipping the staff with all dimension of working competencies, no matter it is industry knowledge, soft skills or motivation, our staff are well-trained with great opportunity of career advancement.
