Warmth Giving on Chung Yeung Festival
During Chung Yeung Festival, staff representatives of Dalian New World Department Store visited and donated knee pad, scarf and thermal underwear to the elderly in Dalian Dragon Temple Staff Sanatorium, giving the elderly their best regards.

Blood Donation Activity
Shanghai – Hong Kong New World Department Store – Pujian Branch Store in response to the blood donation campaign organized by Pudong New District Government Office, coordinated 3 blood donation activities on 14 October, 28 October and 16 November 2009, a total of 2400CC blood was donated.

"Helping the Disable, Gathering Generosity" – Donation to Thousands of The Cataract to Have Free Operation Campaign
In order to help the disable, allowing the poor cataract patients to recover their eyesight, six stores of NWDS in Wuhan, including Wuhan Store, Wuhan trendy Plaza, Wuhan Wuchang Branch Store, Wuhan Qiaokou Branch Store, Wuhan Xudong Branch Store and Wuhan Hanyang Branch Store, together with the Wuhan Disable Welfare Foundation organized “Helping the Disable, Gathering Generosity” – Donation to Thousands of The Cataract to Have Free Operation Campaign during 1 August 2009 to 31 October 2009. Donation boxes were set up at designated cashier counters in the six stores of NWDS in Wuhan while leaflets of the campaign were distributed to promote the event, encouraging the customers to donate.

Blood Donation to Support Taiwan
Staff of Chengsha New World Trendy Plaza participated in the blood donation event organized by Fu Rong District in August 2009, supporting the victims of typhoon disaster in Taiwan.

Helping the Poor Family in the Community
Dalian New World Department Store donated 1260 T-shirts to the poor families in Qing Ni Wa Qiao Street Shanghai Community Committee in August 2009. The donation reflects the social responsibility and generosity of Dalian New World Department Store which also accredited by the local government and the public.

"MSF Day 2009"
New World Group raised HK$480,000 for MSF　  Over 22,000 staff participated the campaign
"MSF Day 2009" launched in June 2009 with the slogan "Let's donate a Day's Income and volunteer for MSF", the public are encouraged to donate a day's income to support the worldwide medical relief work of MSF.  Up till now, about HK$3 million has been raised from this event.

NWDS was the principal sponsor for the campaign for the third consecutive year.  With over 22,000 staff participated in the event, New World Group raised HK$480,000 for MSF Day 2009.

"Give a Child a Future" Charity Donation
On 22 June 2009, Wuhan New World Department Store organized "Give a Child a Future" charity donation day for Chinese children at Wuhan Children Welfare Home Air-conditioners and study tools were donated in loving care of orphaned and physically handicapped children, and in the hope of improving the conditions of living and studying at the Home.

"Our Love is Strong" Large-scale Charity Sales
Organized by Ciwawa Caring Association and co-organized by Tianjin New World Department Store, "Our Love is Strong" large-scale Charity Sales was held on 13 June, 2009. The activity was full of enthusiasm and was well-ordered that participants were generously raised fund for children who have "Osteogenesis Imperfecta". Apart from that, several media organizations, "Bohai Morning Post", "Metro Express Post" and "Daily News", have reported the charity sales as well.

"I'm Happy" 6.1 Children's Day Drawing Competition
Anshan New World Department Store held an "I'm Happy" 6.1 Children's Day Drawing Competition on 1 June, 2009 and awarded 35 prizes including champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up to the winners. The awardees were happy to receive coupons for photographic products redemption and mini-fans from Duo Duo Photography Company.

"111" Assistant Project
Beijing New World Trendy Department Store co-organized "111" Assistant Project with Bei Lang Dong community of Chaoyang District, Beijing and raised fund for the poor in the community on 14 May, 2009.

5.12 Candle Light Charity
To mark the first anniversary of the Sichuan earthquakes, Wuhan Qiaokou Branch Store co-organized "5.12 Candle Light Charity" with Southern City Daily and New Life Weekly of Changjiang Press Group, attracting participation from about 1,000 customers and kind-hearted people.

5.12 Earthquakes 1st Anniversary Charity Sales
Beijing New World Department Store jointly held 5.12 Earthquakes 1st Anniversary Charity Sales with "Li Lian Jie One Fund" on 9 May, 2009 and raised about RMB200,000 through charity sales of Jiangzu handicrafts.

"Charity Sale of Concert Ticket"
Chongqing New World Department Store held a "Charity Sale of Concert Ticket of 2009 Andy Lau in Concert" on 19 April 2009 and raised about RMB19,200 for a primary school in Chongqing that was severely damaged by the Wenchuan earthquake, so as to assist the development of the school and improve the conditions of the study environment.

"Share Love with Winter Clothes" Charity Event
During the springtime of 2009, a charity event called "Sharing Warmth‧Fill Each Home with Blessings" was devised by all Ba Li Chun Tian-branded department stores. They have collected over a thousand of winter clothes. On 13 Feb 2009, the staff representatives from Shanghai Wujiaochang Branch Store presented the winter clothes and food prepared especially for the elderly living in the Home of elderly in Wujiaochang Street. They stayed with the elderly and tidied up the home for them, which brought warmth and care to the elders.

"Fill the World with Love"——New World Department Store Extended its Care to the Community
The NWDS FY2008 Annual Report won Bronze Award for "Overall Presentation: Department Store" in the 22nd Annual International MERCURY Awards Competition.

The design of the annual report features a vivid palette with simple patterns. The up-flying rainbow-colored butterflies on cover represent the diversified and quality services rendered by NWDS that serve to enrich lives and driving a pursuit for a better lifestyle. It also demonstrates an upward trend of the Company's business development. In addition, the use of yellow color delivers the message of a bright and promising future of the Company. The "butterflies" concept is extended to the interior design throughout the entire annual report. The rainbow-colored butterflies fly through the pages, conveying the message of a delightful shopping experience in NWDS.

Shenyang Zhonghua Road Branch Store supported NWCL Greeting Card Charity Sales
Shenyang New World Department Store - Zhonghua Road Branch Store supported NWCL's volunteer team in "Sharing love in New World" greeting card charity sales. This event was held in Shenyang Zhonghua Road Branch Store on 20 Dec 2008, while the fund raised was contributed to UNICEF's children development project in China.

Kunming Store Supported China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) "Jiangling．Qiqiao Bridge Development Project" Charity Programme
On 14 Dec 2008, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) "Jiangling．Qiqiao Bridge Development Project" Charity Programme was unveiled in Kunming New World Department Store. This is a project launched by CFPA in 2007 aiming at "Creating bridge for the poor's benefits with love and care". This project helps underdeveloped areas in China to finance the construction of convenient bridges, and at the same time to make cloth and money donations to these areas through various charitable activities.

On the event day, Deputy General Manager of Jiangling Motors Co. Ltd, Management of CFPA Yunnan Province Office and Management of NWDS delivered speech on stage, while several hundred of students from "University Student Alliance for Building Home with Love", audiences offstage donated money and essentials earnestly. Kunming Store also donated a number of books to those people in need.

"Share love in Chung Yeung" - elderly house visit during Chung Yeung Festival
Ningbo New World Department Store and Ningbo Trendy Store have organized a visit called "Share love in Chung Yeung" to the elderly house during Chung Yeung Festival on 7 Oct 2008. Our staff prepared a performance to share joy with the elderly in this festival.

Rendering Full Support for Sichuan Earthquake Relief
Massive earthquakes struck Sichuan on 12 May 2008. Pitching in on disaster relief, the Group mobilized over 30 stores in 17 cities for a host of joint relief efforts. We held charity sales, donated sales proceeds and set up blood donation stations and donation boxes at all our stores. In addition, we transported relief supplies to devastated areas and co-organized subsidized education. Our shop staff initiated internal fundraising, and some RMB860,000 collected was subsequently donated to Chengdu Red Cross. Besides, Chengdu Store held an earthquake victims consolation gathering to raise funds for staff affected and their families.

Over 3,800 NWDS's staff participated in "MSF Day 2008"
Raised a sum of HK$300,000 for MSF
After the "MSF Day 2008" kicked off in April 2008, it received great support from the community. Participants wore the "MSF Day Badge" together to show their commitment of donating a day's income to MSF, which is equivalent to volunteering for one day. MSF Hong Kong has raised a total sum of over HK$ 2.5 million.

NWDS was the principal sponsor for MSF Day for the second consecutive year. Over 3,800 staff members have joined the event and a sum of HK$300,000 was raised. NWDS will continue to support the meaningful front-line relief work of MSF.

MSF Day 2008 kick off ceremony
Since 2007, New World Department Store has been the principal sponsor for "MSF Day". In 2008, the MSF Day was held in 7^th July 2008, once again NWDS did not hesitate to support this charitable cause and became the principal sponsor for "MSF Day 2008". It demonstrated our support to the organization's humanitarian work around the world.

The kick-off ceremony was held at City Walk, Tsuen Wan on 20^th April 2008. With the slogan of "Let's Donate a Day's Income and Volunteer for MSF", guests from different walks of life urged the public to donate a day's income to support the frontline medical relief work of MSF.

Shanghai Municipality: Blankets giving and snow sweeping
Shortly ahead of the 2008 Lunar New Year in mid-January, when freezing weather persisted and snowstorms raged, Shanghai Wujiaochang Branch Store responded to charity calls by General Trade Union of Wujiaochang Street. The store bought cotton blankets and distributed them via union representatives to poverty-stricken families in the region before the Spring Festival. Besides, the Shanghai Wujiaochang Branch Store also organized street snow- sweeping by store staff to restore convenience in pedestrian traffic.

Northeastern China Region donates cotton jackets
Harbin New World Department Store jointly held Cotton Warmth Against Wintry Cold with SAFRON in 24th December, 2007, donating cotton jackets worth about RMB100,000 to HLJ Women and Children's Foundation. The charity enabled children in poverty Northeastern China to pass the warmth and care from society on freezing days.

"Hand-crafted with Love" Charity Bazaar
During Christmas 2007, Tianjin Store joined with mainstream media and city communities to launch Hand-crafted with Love,a handicraft bazaar to raise funds for Tianjin Charity Association, people with osteo sarcoma and underprivileged communities. On 24 December, the store held Silent Night Charity Auction, inviting the public to bid for donated items in fundraising and blessing for people in need.

Central China Region: One Dollar One Education Dream
Between October and December 2007, our stores in Central China Region joined Wuhan Youth Trust Fund and Office of Project Hope on the One Dollar One Education Dream project. We appealed to staff members and customers for donations in aid of children deprived of education.

Northern China Region supports Red Cross with Olympics sales
Beijing New World Shopping Mall supported Red Cross in Chongwen District in aid of children with leukemia. The store donated the proceeds from concessionaire sales of Olympics-related goods in two timeslots of the 14 September anniversary sale held in commemoration of the store's ninth anniversary.

Bright Future Action – A New World for Amblyopic Children
Amblyopia is a common visual impairment found around the world. More than 10 millions children in China are affected by amblyopia but without very little understanding toward it. NWDS jointed China Children and Teenagers' Fund to support the charity project - "Bright Future Action – A New World for Amblyopic Children' and help promote this activity from Hong Kong to major cities in China. Its kick-off ceremony was held in the Beijing's Great Hall of the People on 16th November, 2007. The whole project lasts for one year. NWDS will act as the platform for this activity to promote the better understanding about the disease and spread the message of caring for the amblyopic children in Mainland China through setting up donation boxes in our department stores.

"Education for 100 Schoolchildren"
To help poverty children realize their education dream, Beijing Trendy Store kicked off Education for 100 Schoolchildren upon its first anniversary. For the next 20 years,  it  had committed to make annual donations of RMB100,000 to help 100 poor students to complete their education at Beijing Normal University. The programme won community approval and an award, "Special Contribution to Education Development" from the university .

Reverence and Love for Elders
On the Chung Yeung Festival in 2007, staff from Wuxi Store visited the elderly at a rehabilitation centre and distributed winter clothing, woolen clothing and reading glasses. During Mid-Autumn Festival in 2007, staff from Ningbo Store visited elders living alone in the community and shared festive snacks and mooncakes.

NWDS raised HK$300,000 for "MSF Day 2007"
"The 7.30 MSF Day" was unveiled in May 2007 with the slogan of "Let's Donate a Day's Income and Volunteer for MSF", the organization invited the public to donate a day's income to support the worldwide medical relief work of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). It was generously supported by over ten thousands citizens in the territory, in which 229 public, private companies and the government departments (16 of them are government departments and donors) has participated. Until 30th July 2007, the event has raised more than HK$ 4 million.

As the principal sponsor for the event, NWDS has raised HK$300,000, together with the donations raised by the New World Group, a sum of $520,000 was raised from the whole Group. In 2007, more than 2,000 staff members responded with donations in support of the MSF Day. New World Group therefore became the corporation with the highest number of participants. At the same time, the Group is proud to be the most generous contributor to MSF Day for the second consecutive year. The Group will continue to collaborate with the organization to care for those who are sick and unfortunate.

MSF Day 2007
"MSF Day 2007", the annual fund-raising campaign of MSF Hong Kong was held in 30th July 2007. The kick-off ceremony was held at Discovery Park, Tsuen Wan on 27th May 2007. With the slogan of "Let's Donate a Day's Income and Volunteer for MSF", guests from different walks of life urged the public to donate a day's income to support the frontline medical relief work of MSF.

New World Group has been the supporter for MSF's work ever since 2006, it has also become the most generous contributor to "MSF Day" in the same year.

In 2007, New World Department Store responded without any hesitation, it became the principal sponsor of "MSF Day 2007" to demonstrate its overwhelming support to the organization's humanitarian work worldwide.
